Day 1

You will be met on arrival at Cape Town International Airport and assisted to the vehicle hire counter. You will receive a detailed information pack, with maps & directions on places and areas of interest.

Your hotel is situated in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and boasts a prime location among Cape Town hotels. The hotel is comfortable and includes all the amenities you’d expect from a 4-star city hotel.

Day 2

Day at Leisure to explore Cape Town. Your information pack will contain information on sights and visits worth making whilst in Cape Town.

Suggested activity today: Cape Peninsula Tour, including visits to Hout Bay, a cruise to Seal Island, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Simons Town and the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony.

Day 3

Days at Leisure to experience Cape Town.

Suggested activity today: Table Mountain & City Tour, including the cable car ride to the top, Green Market Square, Long Street, Bo Kaap and sundowners on Camps Bay beach.

Again, our caring staff will be on call to assist you with any arrangements.

Day 4

After breakfast this morning you will self-drive to Stellenbosch, situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Day at Leisure in the winelands.

We suggest a few visits to some of our great wine estates.

Your boutique hotel is situated in historic Dorp Street, and within walking distance of more than 40 excellent restaurants and coffee shops, all the major museums, art museums, galleries and theatres.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast you will depart on your scenic four to five hour drive into the Garden Route.

You will have detailed maps and directions to assist with the journey. Arrive at your hotel, situated in the Knysna town centre and close to the Waterfront, in the late afternoon.

Day 6

Day at Leisure to explore Knysna.

Suggested activities: The John Benn Ferry to Featherbed Nature Reserve, the Waterfront, Knysna Lagoon, the Knysna Forest, an Ocean Safari in Plettenberg Bay, Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary and the Knysna Elephant Park.

Day 7

After a leisurely breakfast you will depart on your very scenic and interesting journey through the Tsitsikamma Forest into the Eastern Cape.

You will have detailed maps and directions to assist with the journey.

Arrive at the Addo Elephant National Park in the late afternoon, which lies deep within the shadows of the dense valley bushveld of the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape.

Day 8

Day at Leisure to explore Addo Elephant National Park.

The original Elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants remained in the area - today this finely tuned ecosystem is sanctuary to over 450 elephants, Cape buffalo, black rhino, a variety of antelope species, as well as the unique flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. But the Addo story has only just begun. Plans to expand the 164 000 ha Addo National Elephant Park into a 360 000 ha mega-park are moving forward at an exciting pace.

Your Forest Cabin is an open area with 4 single beds, a table and seating for four persons. Shower, toilet and hand basin. Braai facilities, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils and fridge. With communal kitchen.

Day 9

Enjoy one last game activity of your choice in Addo before departing on your journey to Port Elizabeth.

Again, you will have detailed maps and directions to find your way easily.

Arrive at your hotel in the early afternoon, with the rest of the day at leisure to explore this lovely area.

Situated a stone's throw from the world renowned Hobie Beach, The Beach Hotel is probably the most attractive landmark along the Friendly City's magnificent beachfront. Your hotel is situated directly opposite Hobie Beach and next to the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment Complex.

Day 10

After breakfast and morning at leisure, you will drive to the Port Elizabeth Airport where you will drop off your rental vehicle, and depart on a short scheduled flight to Durban.

On arrival at Durban Airport you will pick up your rental vehicle and self drive to your hotel, situated just outside the city centre, set high on the banks of the Umgeni River Mouth. Three restaurants and a cocktail bar on the premises, together with four-star accommodation and location that is second to none, ensure the best getaway this side of paradise.

Day 11

Day at leisure to enjoy the beauty of the area.

Stunning river views and abundant bird life on the Umgeni Estuary below the hotel, set the perfect scene for rest and relaxation. The Windsor Park and Durban Country Club golf courses are within easy access of the hotel, while to the north and south lie the splendor of the KwaZulu-Natal Coast.

We suggest a visit to the Traditional herbal market, the Victoria Street Oriental Market and uShaka Marine World.

Day 12

This morning after breakfast you will depart on your journey along the KwaZulu coastline to Lake St. Lucia.

En route you can watch the sugar cane fields doing their own version of the Mexican wave at the urging of the wind.

Check-in at Zulu Nyala Heritage Safari Lodge. Enjoy a late afternoon cruise on Lake St Lucia, a World Heritage Site and home to the hippo, crocodile and no less than 367 bird species. Dinner will be served in the hotel's restaurant.

Day 13

Enjoy breakfast before departure for Swaziland. Your scenic route will allow you to view traditional Zulu beehive huts.

Continue your self drive journey through the Swazi border posts. We suggest a visit to the Swazi Candle Factory, teeming with exquisite wax artworks in every shape and colour imaginable.

This afternoon you will arrive at your hotel in the Ezulwini Valley and check-in. The rest of the day and evening is at leisure to enjoy the hotel's facilities.

The Royal Swazi Spa is an oasis in the Kingdom of Swaziland with its sweeping verandas, large oak trees and wide open spaces. This regal colonial hotel stirs and stimulates the senses with its contrasting qualities. The warmth of the noble Swazi people is illustrated by their amiable welcome.

Day 14

After an early morning breakfast you will depart on your interesting journey through Swaziland. First stop is the capital city,, Mbabane, known for its vibrant markets packed with woven baskets, beadwork and carvings.

We suggest a visit to the famous Ngwenya Glass Works to see the master craftsmen fashion collectable figures and functional art out of molten glass.

Travel via Komatipoort to your private lodge in Sabi Sands. Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is situated in the Southern portion of the 65,000-hectare Sabi Sand Game Reserve (southern Kruger National Park region), an area well known for its spectacular game viewing.

Day 15

Lion Sands has exclusive access to the Sabie River. From its source high up in the Drakensburg mountain range where it passes through the famous Mac Mac falls, the river through Lion Sands teems with wildlife. It is the definitive safari experience. The relatively cool riverbanks offer a brief respite from the relentless African sun. Splendid parades of animals pass through to quench their thirst at the water's edge. And eager predators wait patiently.

Of course, your safari cannot be complete without exposure to every facet of life in the bush. Day 16

After an exciting game drive and bush breakfast, you will depart on your self-drive journey to the Southern Kruger National Park.

The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares, Kruger National Park is unrivalled in the diversity of its life forms and a world leader in advanced environmental management techniques and policies.

Berg-en-Dal is situated on the bank of the Matjulu Spruit with a view of softly undulating hills to the east. On the northern and southern sides dry riverbeds and a dam border the camp. There are large trees along the streams and dry riverbeds. Special care has been taken to preserve the natural vegetation in the camp. Your bungalows are equipped with ablutions (all with showers), air-conditioning and equipped kitchen.

Day 17

Spend the day self driving through Kruger National Park, taking lots of pictures and maybe stopping for a picnic at a designated spot.

There are so many creatures to see and sightings of rare species can be the highlight of your trip. Keep up to date with the movements of the wildlife in the Kruger National Park by consulting the sightings map at reception, it is updated daily. Skukuza is the Kruger National Park's largest rest camp and administrative headquarters. It is situated on the southern banks of the Sabie River. The camp is well foliaged and there are some lofty trees along the river’s edge. Activities and facilities are diverse, as are the animals and plants found both within the camp and in the surrounding areas.

Day 18

This morning you will depart on your self drive journey towards the Panoramic Route. Exit via the Paul Kruger Gate.

You will enjoy the scenic journey through the towns of Hazyview and Sabie, and we suggest stops at God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon, before you check into your hotel in the late afternoon.

The Royal Hotel, situated in Pilgrim's Rest, was impeccably restored, to reflect true late Victorian style. It is perhaps one of South Africa's best-known hotels. This national monument is famous for its atmosphere and world-class service and facilities. Composed of ten authentic buildings dating back to the latter part of the nineteenth century, the hotel offers charming en-suite bedrooms.

Day 19

After breakfast you will depart on your self drive journey toward Gauteng. Travel through the scenic Long Tom Pass, Lydenburg, Belfast and Witbank.

Arrive at Misty Hills in the early afternoon. The Misty Hills Country Hotel is a charming, stone-built hotel complex, set in lush landscaped gardens and surrounded by natural forest and grassland in the heart of the Kromdraai Valley, just 25 km from Johannesburg.

This evening you will enjoy a magnificent farewell dinner. The central attraction of the Carnivore restaurant is a large circular open fire with 52 converted Masaai tribal spears holding a variety of 10 different types of meat such as pork, lamb, beef, chicken, ribs and sausages and including such game meats as crocodile, zebra, giraffe, impala, ostrich, etc, gently roasting and waiting for you to begin your feast!!! It's a case of "eat as much as you can", with each table having a flag that is lowered to indicate that you surrender when you have had your fill. Herbivores can choose from a delicious and unusual vegetarian menu.
